Story
We are raising money for Variety, the Children’s Charity, in the 2012 Balmain to Bamaga Bash and we would welcome any contribution – great or small – that you could make!

Car 8 is a 1970 Ford Falcon XW station wagon, and the crew make the run in gorilla suits. Not the best choice as we head to the tip of Cape York. And we usually end up smelling like gorillas. The 2012 crew is Paul Bentley, Neil Ashworth and virgin Seamus Fleming.
We were recently featured on the front page of Berowra's Bush Telegraph with our favourite radio station Triple H 100.1 FM. Last year the Gorillas got a bit of press including this article in the Tennant Creek Times and this article in the Bush Telegraph.
We have lots of plans to upgrade the car this year including new front suspension, electric windows, air con (at last), and a new sound system so we can blast out some monkey music.

Car 8 "Gorillas in the Dust" is an integrated simian team headed by Cornelius and his lady friend.
The drive crew are Paul Bentley, Neil Ashworth and Seamus Fleming.
We pass through some remote country, most of it dusty.
But there is always time to contemplate our place in the universe.
But it's all about the kids, and the kids love the gorillas.
Especially when we hand out the lollies.
You just have to make sure the quiet ones get their share.
And after a hard days driving and helping out children, the gorillas always make time for a bit of fun...
The Bash is not a race or a rally and speed is not important. What really matters is that everyone has an enjoyable time travelling in parts of Australia they would not otherwise see, at the same time raising money for our special needs children.
